In the die-cut parts we process, we often encounter EVA foam die-cutting, which usually has a thickness of 1-2mm and may eventually reach 5mm. For this type of EVA foam die-cutting, there will definitely be many or various problems during the production process. So the problems we often encounter are mainly reflected in the following three points:

1. The beveled edge is easy to appear in the process of foam punching (the beveled edge of round knife is larger);

2. The foam with these thicknesses is easy to produce debris during pressing;

3. For some porous products, it is difficult to discharge (the pore diameter is too small, the foam thickness is large, and waste discharge is not easy to achieve);

This is a very common phenomenon we encounter in EVA foam die-cutting operations. Below, the editor will analyze the three common problems mentioned above and provide relevant solutions. We have the characteristics of EVA foam itself. Let's give a brief introduction: EVA foam die-cutting processing has high thickness, certain elasticity, low elasticity limit, and is easy to pulverize. Due to the above characteristics of EVA foam die-cutting processing, we will encounter three basic problems during the EEVA foam die-cutting process:

Pressure reduction problem in EVA foam die-cutting processing

First of all, as for the inclined edges that may appear during die cutting and punching, the reason for this problem is that the thickness of foam is very high. In the stamping process, the foam is flushed and then stamped, and the foam is extruded together with the surface. The main way to reduce blood pressure and solve these problems is to change the choice of tools.

The die-cutting tool we usually use is a double bevel cutting tool for stamping. Then, in order to effectively reduce the occurrence of beveled edges, we use a single blade knife to cut straight inside beveled edges, which can effectively reduce the occurrence of foam beveled edges.

At the same time, EVA foam die-cutting processing For relatively simple EVA foam die-cutting parts, the methods of peeling, edge separation and jumping are used to reduce the factors affecting the bevel and avoid bevel. For some products with slightly complex structures, we can use the method of punching cutter lines to cut, instead of overlapping the closed cutter lines and multiple lines, to reduce the extrusion stress in the process of foam punching and reduce the problem of foam angle side.

Secondly, as for EVA foam fragments, the root cause of this problem is the nature of foam itself. Due to the low toughness of foam and the structure of foam materials, all these are the same in the stamping process. With the repeated action of the cutting machine, debris foam particles are easy to form dust and float in the air. For some die cutting jobs that require cleanliness, there are many ways to solve this problem. Generally speaking, there are spray release agents. The common method on the production line is to lay a layer of OPP protective film on the surface of EVA foam. Solve this problem. Of course, this solution may lead to waste of some accessories. Thirdly, as far as the hole type waste discharge is concerned, the most fundamental reason for this type of EVA foam die-cutting is that the foam is too thick and the hole diameter is small. Due to the waste discharge process, it is difficult to extract waste. The traditional approach is to execute a set of injector fixing devices on the outside of the die-cutting machine mold to discharge waste materials
